Earlier bedtimes fix early wakes

Today's lesson

Counterintuitively, an earlier bedtime often leads to a later wake time. A baby who is overtired at bedtime sleeps more restlessly and wakes earlier. Try moving bedtime 15–30 minutes earlier for three nights.

  • Move bedtime earlier by 15 minutes.
  • Watch for faster sleep onset and fewer night wakes.
  • Keep the morning wake time fixed.
