Create a pre-sleep routine

Signal that sleep is coming

Today's lesson

A short, predictable routine tells your baby's brain it's time to wind down. Aim for 5–10 minutes for naps and 20–30 minutes for bedtime. Same order, same room, same calm energy every time.

Your action steps

  • Write down your nap and bedtime routines.
  • Keep the routine in the bedroom or near the crib.
  • End the routine with the same final step (song, phrase, kiss).
